Dr
Mathew Abbott, Senior Lecturer in Humanities, presents
COVID Ethics: Life and death in 2020. The COVID-19 pandemic has forced
governments to make tough decisions, balancing the needs of our economy against
the need to protect vulnerable people from the virus. This workshop will
investigate the ethics of these decisions, and ask some difficult questions.
Should profits ever be prioritised over safety? Can we put a price on human
life? Or is it wrong to think that public health and the economy can be
separated?
