Dear colleagues,
Welcome to the
second edition of my staff
update for 2025, via FedFlix, and welcome back after the long weekends and
mid-semester break for many.
In this video,
we will hear from the following leaders of our University and TAFE, regarding
the development of our new Learning and Teaching Strategy and what it takes to
be a great teacher:
- Professor Birgit Loch, Pro
Vice-Chancellor, Learning and Teaching and Executive Dean, Institute of
Education, Arts and Community
- Darren Gray, Pro
Vice-Chancellor, VET and Pathways and Chief Executive, TAFE, and
- A number of our leading
academics and teachers, who discuss what are keys to best practice in
learning and teaching, and how do we engage our students in ways that help
them uncover their passions to find fulfilling careers?
I also share a
few recent achievements across our campuses, including post-census student
numbers, winners of our TAFE Awards for Excellence, the success of our
student-led health clinics, our Allied Health camp for prospective students,
the Ballarat Showcase event and our graduations.
Thank you to
everyone helping our students to settle into their classes and campus life at
the start of the year. It is excellent to see so many students here at
Federation, taking up the opportunity to transform their lives through
education.
